Biography
Vena Khosa, an Indo-Malaysian Interdisciplinary BFA artist in the GTA, critically examines the intricate layers of South Asian identity through a diasporic lens. Their artistic practice deconstructs aesthetic conventions and cultural heritage, mirroring the fragmented subjectivity of a Canadian-born South Asian woman. By engaging with existential ambiguity, memory, and self-recognition, Vena’s collages transmute external landscapes into introspective environments. Their work subverts normative representations of womanhood and spatial paradigms, inviting viewers to reconceptualize identity and temporality as fluid processes of self-actualization, ultimately fostering an ethos of dynamic self-discovery within the Indo-Malaysian diaspora.
